Comfort and function
The innovative CHW thumb orthosis, which is unique on the market, was specially developed for the therapeutic treatment of patients with osteoarthritis of the thumb saddle joint (rhizarthrosis). Its design specifically relieves the CMC-I joint without restricting the freedom of movement of the wrist or fingers.

Positioned between the thumb and index finger, the natural hand function is fully preserved. The slim, ergonomic design allows lateral mobility in the saddle joint and supports a physiological hand position in everyday life.

When gripping, the flexible TPU material ensures gentle spreading of the thumb saddle joint. This reduces compression and friction, which leads to noticeable pain relief and improved joint function.

The active principle of the dynamic CHW thumb orthosis is based on re-centering the thumb saddle joint and increasing the interdigital distance between the first and second metacarpal bones. This promotes a stable, natural joint position and supports conservative therapy.

The orthosis consists of an ergonomically shaped thumb brace and two finger rings or straps for a secure hold and precise positioning. The thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) used offers an ideal combination of flexibility, stability and skin compatibility - for high wearing comfort and reliable suitability for everyday use.
